Farm life teaches patience, resiliency, and a strong work ethic while fostering a deep connection to where food comes from, the rhythms of the seasons, and the true meaning of the circle of life. Kate
Seed Planter
Kate grew up in the mild climate of California’s Bay Area, where she developed a deep appreciation for eating with the seasons and knowing where her food comes from. When peaches are ripe, there’s no holding back! She has lovingly passed this passion down to Belle and Bug. Most days, you’ll find her in the flower garden, where she finds joy in growing blooms and crafting beautiful bouquets. Aside from spending time with her family, few things make her happier than being surrounded by flowers and the beauty of nature.
Patrick
Seed Keep-Aliver
Patrick is a sixth-generation farmer. He grew up raising livestock and stacking hay bales in Northern Nevada. However his new found agricultural passion here in the Sacramento valley is raising trees—olives, stone fruit, and citrus. The orchard is his happy place. He’s just as content standing in the leafless orchard of winter planning his next pruning cuts as he is picking ripe warm peaches in the middle of summer harvest.
What is Belle and Bug Farms?
Located in Orland, California—in the heart of the Northern Sacramento Valley—Belle & Bug Farms sits on some of the most fertile ground in the world. Its Mediterranean-like climate and growing seasons make it possible to grow just about anything, including the Sevillano olives that produce our award-winning extra virgin olive oil. Additionally, we grow saffron, oranges, peaches, and seasonal cut flower bouquets for our local customers.
